About Me
Hi, I’m Jenna. My passion for helping children and young people’s mental health led me to set up The Wellbeing Club, here in Greater Manchester. I wanted to develop a service that extended beyond the traditional therapy offer. Psychotherapy is a wonderful tool to help people with their mental health but throughout my work with children I often hear how alone they feel with their problems. This is why The Wellbeing Club offers extra services such as group courses and peer support, allowing children to connect with others.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies from a BABCP accredited university course. I have also completed a wide variety of training including Level 3 Safeguarding for both children and adults and GDPR compliance/data protection. I keep up to date with regular training, to make sure I’m working in line with industry best practice.
I’ve worked in children’s mental health for over 9 years in a variety of settings. I’ve worked on NHS-funded services, in private and in third sectors. Throughout my experience I’ve supported children and young people in schools, in the community and online. My training is predominantly in CBT and I use these models and techniques to help people understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Therapy can be tough at times but I’m passionate about making my therapy sessions a safe, fun and creative space for children and young people.
About The Wellbeing Club
The Wellbeing Club is a place for children and young people to explore and get support with their mental health and wellbeing. Its aim is to be a safe space for people to access vital support, whilst offering opportunities to connect with others. When setting up The Wellbeing Club, we got ideas and feedback from young people and parents, to make sure we’re offering the best service possible. If you have any ideas of what you want to see at The Wellbeing Club in the future, please get in touch.
Our main service at The Wellbeing Club is our one-to-one CBT sessions. These provide a great space for you to receive therapeutic support with your problems. We also offer shorter guided self-help sessions for those smaller problems that might not need in depth therapy. Or you might prefer to learn in a group setting on one of our coping skills courses. We also run peer support sessions which provide an open space for you to meet and chat to other people going through similar experiences, all in a safe, therapist guided setting. In the future, we also hope to run other sessions to complement your therapy journey, such as study groups, book clubs, journalling and more.
The Wellbeing Club is based in Greater Manchester, although the online services are available nationwide.
